R. John Fletcher joins M. Jeannine Strandjord as a 2018 honoree
Washington – September 2018 – The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the authority on boardroom practices representing more than 19,000 corporate board members, has announced the 2018 NACD Directorship 100™, a list of the most influential leaders in the boardroom and corporate governance community. Receiving special recognition this year is R. John Fletcher, who will receive the NACD Director of the Year Award along with M. Jeannine Strandjord, director at Euronet Worldwide and MGP Ingredients.
Fletcher currently serves on the board of Axcelis Technologies and Spectranetics. Fletcher, along with the full list of 2018 honorees, will be featured in the November/December issue of NACD Directorship, the official magazine of NACD, and will be honored during the NACD Directorship 100 black-tie gala on November 28 in New York City. The NACD Directorship 100 Corporate Governance Hall of Fame was created in 2008 to recognize the outstanding lifetime achievements of select individuals who have had a lasting influence on corporate governance and the boardroom community. Previous inductees have included William B. Chandler III, partner, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati; James D. Robinson III, chair, director, and corporate governance committee member, Coca-Cola; Norman R. Augustine, former chair and CEO, Lockheed Martin Corp.; Warren E. Buffett, chair and CEO, Berkshire Hathaway; Ann M. Fudge, director, General Electric, Novartis, and Unilever; Charles T. Munger, vice chair, Berkshire Hathaway; Harvey L. Pitt, CEO, Kalorama Partners; Reatha Clark King, former director, ExxonMobil and Wells Fargo; and John “Jack” F. Welch Jr., former chair and CEO, General Electric.
As well as recognizing the recipients of the NACD Director of the Year Award, the NACD Directorship 100 awards recognize 100 leading corporate directors and governance advocates in several categories, including academics, attorneys, board advisors, compensation experts, investors, recruiters, and regulators and rulemakers. In addition, the NACD Directorship 100 will recognize Lawrence A. Cunningham, director at Constellation Software, with the NACD B. Kenneth West Lifetime Achievement Award, and two directors will be inducted into the NACD Directorship 100 Corporate Governance Hall of Fame: Gwendolyn Stewart King, former director at Countrywide Financial Corp., Erie Family Life Insurance Co., Erie Indemnity Co., Lockheed Martin Corp., Martin Marietta Materials, and Monsanto Co., and Henry Hugh Shelton, director at L3 Technologies.
