Tom Stuart, PhD
Senior Vice President
Tom brings an uncommon combination of scientific depth and strategic acuity to healthcare and life sciences clients. As a PhD-trained biologist turned strategy consultant, he advises leading MedTech, diagnostics, and life sciences tools companies on growth strategy, competitive positioning, market assessment, and AI-enabled business transformation. His client work spans the full spectrum of the sector—from global diagnostics players and clinical research organizations to laboratory tools manufacturers and specialty MedTech companies—with particular depth in in-vitro diagnostics, real-world data and evidence generation, and the commercialization of emerging technologies. Tom is known for building long-term, trust-based client relationships and for translating complex scientific and market dynamics into clear, actionable strategic directions.
Prior to joining FSI, Tom was a Strategy Executive in Accenture Strategy’s Healthcare & Life Sciences practice, where he led engagements across business strategy, AI opportunity assessment, market entry, and portfolio planning spanning mid-market and Fortune 200 clients across MedTech, diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals. Before Accenture, Tom was a Vice President at The Beacon Group, a boutique life sciences strategy advisory firm, where he developed his consulting foundation across a similar range of clients and strategic questions. Tom began his professional career as a research scientist, earning his PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Tulane — an experience that shapes his analytical approach and gives him immediate credibility with scientific and clinical stakeholders.
Tom is active in the New Orleans life sciences and academic community and is committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists and professionals considering careers at the intersection of science and business strategy.
